Eyes on Federal Reserve’s decision to increase the interest rates

BSE Sensex (25201.90)  and NSE Nifty(7655.05) closed down  by  4.5% and 4.3% respectively  last week.Nifty  call option September  8000 was very active.Nifty September future was quoting at the premium of  7.00 points.Support for Sensex is at  24220 and Nifty at 7350. Resistance for Sensex is at 26100 and Nifty at 7920.

SUN TV  and  IBULHSGFIN  added Open Interest in September series.Huge position was build up at  RCOM  September  put  Option Strike Price 45.Good build up was also seen at  ICICI BANK  September  put  Option Strike Price 230.

Strategy  for Futures Option players

(1)  IOC (408.60)   Future-Lot Size 1000 shares.

Buy One Lot  September  Future  @ 408.60 Rs.

Sell One Call Option September  strike price 420@ 11.55 Rs

Premium Received= 11.55*1000= 11550.00 Rs

Maximum Profit= 420 – 408.60= 10.40*1000= 10400.00 + 11550.00 = 21950.00 Rs.

Max Loss=Unlimited.

(2) DABUR (286.25) LOT SIZE 1000 shares

Buy  One Call Option of   September  Strike Price 285@ 10.80 Rs.

Sell  One Call Option of   September  Strike Price  295@ 6.10 Rs.

Premium Paid = 10.8*1000 = 10800.00 Rs.

Premium Received= 6.10*1000 = 6100.00 Rs.

Net Premium Paid= 10800 – 6100= 4700.00 Rs.

Maximum Profit = 295 -285= 10*1000= 10000.00 – 4700.00 = 5300.00 Rs.

Maximum Loss= 4700.00 Rs.

Break Even= 289.70
